And tennis fans can get excited watching the French Open, one of the 4 prestigious Grand Slam tournaments, from mid-May to mid-June every year. It is held at the historic Roland Garros stadium in the 16th district and is easily recognizable for its famous red-orange clay court.
Tennis legend Rafael Nadal has won the French Open a record 14 times. His victories at Roland Garros span from 2005 to 2022, solidifying his reputation as the greatest clay-court player in tennis history. On the other hand, the French have only won the tournement once in its entire history, thanks to Yannick Noah.

Other famous sporting events in the city span from The Paris Marathon and La Parisienne, two different annual races that helps to discover the city's enchanting streets, to hors riding competition like the Saut Hermes or Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
